EP Review: Conrad Sewell – All I Know

2 min read

What a crazy year it’s been for Brisbane artist Conrad Sewell. His hit Start Again topped the ARIA charts earlier this year becoming his first number one in his homeland Australia. He has three nominations for the 2015 ARIA Awards, including; ‘Best Pop Release’, ‘Song Of The Year’, and ‘Breakthrough Artist’. With Conrad’s debut EP All I Know upon us, we couldn’t wait to give it a spin.

Conrad Sewell - All I KnowConrad worked with some big gun producers/writers to bring the new EP to life including Jamie Hartman (Christina Aguilera), Jacob Cash (Usher) and Sean Douglass (Madonna). The reason why Start Again was massive is quite clear in its rawness, sophistication and delivery; Conrad’s soulful voice accompanied by a choir of vocals. The subtle piano arrangement is heaven here.

Who You Lovin is in a whole different world than Start Again; it explores pop/funk with the charm of Michael Jackson and the modern feel of The Weeknd. Last year Sewell was featured on Kygo’s international hit Firestone and it was outstanding. He’s thrown in an acoustic version for our listening pleasure here and it’s just as fantastic as the original.

Conrad Sewell has sure proven to be an artist to write home about. All I Know is a stunning debut EP that shows listeners just what Sewell can do with that phenomenal voice of his. It’s diverse too with a balanced amount of ballads and pop numbers and it ends with you wishing it was a full-length record.
