- – Renowned For Sound T’s & C’s
Please read through the following guidelines for contributing to Renowned For Sound. These T’s and C’s apply to all roles within the website. Should you have any questions about anything below, please let Brendon know.
- Reviews and articles that are written for Renowned For Sound should not appear on any other publication, blog or similar platform. Where a writer might have a portfolio style blog, please use only a paragraph and link to the full article on Renowned For Sound.
- If a deadline may be missed on an article, please let Brendon know prior to the deadline being missed and with as much notice as possible. This helps set expectations for those requiring links to published articles such as PR’s and labels who ask us if we are covering something, and also allows Brendon to best plan the website week. While a review may not be published on deadline date, having the item available to publish is important to being able to spread items out for fresh content.
- If attending an film or concert (or other type of in person event), or where you are conducting interviews on behalf of Renowned For Sound, writers are expected to behave professionally, especially in situations where contacts such as artists, PR’s and label representatives are present. Any instances of unprofessional behaviour or instances where a writer is a no-show to an event will result in immediate removal from the website.
- Where provided, any media supplied for the purpose of reviewing for RenownedForSound.com should not be resold. While rarely provided with physical media these days, as the majority of media such as CD’s and DVD’s are watermarked, these items are easily traceable online and through resale therefore it is the responsibility of the recipient and the Editor to ensure media is not resold or uploaded online. Downloads for advance listening that are provided should not be passed on to anyone. This applies to ALL content (including event tickets).
- Industry contacts provided through RenownedForSound.com are for the use of business matters regarding the brand and should not be used to obtain ‘freebies’ or favors and should not be used or any other business outside of RenownedForSound.com.
- Should writers contribute to other publications in addition to RenownedForSound.com, access to contacts within RenownedForSound.com including by not limited to PR’s and Record Labels, are not to be shared with any other publication or used to schedule non RenownedForSound.com related business. Should contacts or information supplied to you by RenownedForSound.com be used to the purpose of contribution toward another publication or for non-business related purposes, that individual will be immediately dismissed from the website.
- Any event accreditation or acceptance of review material (where sought or offered through the Renowned For Sound brand) must be authorized by the Editor in all instances. Any review content received directly should be passed to the Editor to be added to the review schedule and so that the Editor is aware of all requests.
- Should a PR send you a request to review a release directly, please forward the request to Brendon and let the PR know that the request has been sent to the Editor for consideration. It is important that I know what requests are made in terms of the sites content.
- Any use of the brand logo needs to be authorized by the Editor in all instances.
- Contacting PR’s, Labels or artists on behalf of Renowned For Sound directly to secure and interview, review, feature or other form or coverage is not allowed without prior consent of the editor (Brendon). Requests for coverage offered by a PR, Label or artist should be directed to the editor.
- Personal emails will not be given to PR’s or labels where avoidable. The reason for this is that where a PR obtains a new email, the email will be added to a distribution list and the PR will begin to hassle writers for news posting and reviewing items that a writer is not responsible for. If you receive a cold email from a PR or label, please pass to Brendon so he is aware.
