3 min read

In 2009 Ireland’s most successful band decided to try out a new kind of live experience. The concept: A four pronged steel arch in the worlds mega stadiums called the 360 tour. It was War of the Worlds meets pop. It was the first time a band had ever tested this out and being the biggest touring band in the world U2 succeeded incredibly at exploring and perfecting a new and exceptional concert experience allowing for larger audiences and a true concert spectacle.

Performing in front of nearly 100,000 and close to 10 million YouTube streamers, the DVD is the perfect revisit to one of the most incredible concerts to have been witnessed.

Love them or hate them there is no denying that U2 are legendary masters of thier domain and the 360 Tour was a head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to concept and innovation.

U2LiveAtTheRoseBowlHoming in to Pasadenas Rose Bowl you get a birds eye glimpse of the pure size and magnitude of the concert before one of the bands more recent singles Get On Your Boots breaks the ice and ignites the event. Magnificent follows and is one of the bands lesser known singles given grandeur exposure before classic juggernaut and highlight Mysterious Ways gets the crowd in a state of frenzy. The track is given a superb live delivery under the steel arches as Bono gets up close and personal with the legions of fans who flocked to the see the gig.

Beautiful Day, Elevation, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Vertigo are all featured at the concert as well as the bands prominent earlier singles I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For which features an incredible crowd sing along, One and Where The Streets Have No Name setting the epic and atmospheric ballad tone to the event.

One of the treats on the DVD features Bono and The Edge owning the stage as a duo acoustically performing Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of.

The band are on fire throughout the set and look to be completely at home with the creation at their feet and rising above them as well as being in front of a crowd of that size.

360 At The Rose Bowl is a perfect capture of one of the most impressive concerts taken on the road. Whether you went to see these gigs and want to revisit the experience or whether you missed your chance and want the consolation prize, you wont be disappointed. U2 and the 360 tour are true spectacles making the DVD well worth the watching.
