Single Review: Tina Arena – ‘Reset All’

2 min read

As we steadily approach the festive Christmas period the rush of getting presents for people and arranging the celebrations for the end of December begin to take their toll. Sometimes, the best remedy for the quick pace for such chaotic times is music and Aussie pop queen Tina Arena delivers just the right medicine with the latest single to emerge from her brand renew album, Reset.

Reset All is the closing track from her latest studio effort and follows lead single, the spectacular You Set Fire To My Life which was released in the run up to Reset’s October unveiling. Reset All is a gentle power ballad with all the ingredients of a radio-friendly hit for Arena who has once again truly delivered here.

TinaArenaResetWhile You Set Fire To My Life provided a mid tempo introduction to Tina’s latest record, Reset All takes us on a much more laid back and syrupy journey through one of the highlights of the parent record. Once again, Tina impresses us with those powerful vocal chords that have made her a shining beacon of Australian musical talent and an icon in her own right.

The message of the song is about realising a situation is not ideal, “turning a blind eye” and wanting to start over again, doing things differently. While the theme may seem rich in regret and despair, it is actually an optimistic ballad that encourages the changes needed to be happy.

The strings that sway in the background of the track inject a slightly orchestral vibe to the single which is built over a subtle piano foundation, driven home by Tina’s flawless, angelic vocals. It’s a great single selection from Reset and the perfect track to help bring calm to chaos over the festive season.
