Sam Smith has been quiet since he was given the honour of recording the James Bond theme song in 2015, ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ is the first single to be taken from his as yet unannounced second album. It follows from the incredible success of his debut; ‘The Lonely Hour’ in 2014.

The vocal range of Sam Smith will continue to astound and tug at the heartstrings of millions, ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ is about how Smith decided to get better on being dumped. But with a voice as soulful and soothing as this, the question of who would ever dump him arises at more than one point.

Backed by a rousing gospel choir, Smith’s voice is able to soar to the heavens yet bring his adversary down to earth with a bang. The more restrained nature to this single help to humanise Smith, allowing more room for people to add their own stories between the lines.

To celebrate the release of ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’, Smith will be treating fans to intimate performances in some of his favourite cities. It’s safe to say opportunities to see Smith in such small settings will be almost non-existent once his second album is released into the world.
