One Republic took to social media to explain to fans that instead of albums, for now the band would simply be putting out singles as and when they felt like it. This new approach has yielded some impressive results thus far, and latest offering Rich Love sees the boys team up with Norwegian trio Seeb.

The Scandinavian tropical house vibes ooze out of this song at an alarmingly chill rate, making it the ideal summer radio fodder for people to lap up as they dance in the sun. Rich Love has already racked up more than a million views on YouTube, showing that fans of the band are clearly loving this more relaxed affair.

Whilst many previous efforts have seen One Republic go all out on the pop factor, Rich Love is more subtle and considerably stronger for it. Even after this review has finished being written, it is still on repeat out of choice, and is quickly becoming a song of the summer.

Seeb’s sprinkling of Nordic sensibility flows like cold cider on a hot day, providing the perfect accompaniment to frontman Ryan Tedder’s less bolshy vocal. Going all out on a summer tune is clearly not always the answer, but One Republic have the potential to take over the airwaves with this tune that for now, will fill the Avicii shaped void.
