Single Review: Of Mice & Men – ‘You’re Not Alone’

2 min read

If You’re Not Alone is any indication of the quality of Of Mice & Men’s new album Restoring Force, I for one am very excited about it. The track is energetic and explosive from beginning to end, blending together clean choruses with more aggressive verses to strike an effective balance which makes it more enjoyable to listen to.

Of Mice And Men - You're Not AloneThe Californian quintet have established themselves as one of the biggest names in today’s heavy music scene and look likely to remain so for a long time to come. Restoring Force will be the band’s third studio album, following 2011’s The Flood and 2010’s self-titled debut.

The heavy and dark sound of the song is juxtaposed by the lyrics which are quite encouraging and optimistic, as they repeat “Don’t let the world bring you down/It’s not over/You’re not alone anymore”.

You’re Not Alone comes out swinging as the first track released from their upcoming album due out in January next year. Being the first single, it’s also the first taste of the band’s newest member – bassist and clean vocalist Aaron Pauley. Pauley appears to fit in well with the rest of the group, seamlessly blending his instrumental style with the others. His clean singing voice is a positive addition to the band, offering the perfect complement to Austin Carlile’s lead vocals.

You’re Not Alone is an exciting and promising single from Of Mice & Men’s highly anticipated new album and appears to be worth the wait for many fans. If the rest of the album is as good as the first single, it could well be one of the biggest albums of 2014.
