It’s a collaboration that the world didn’t know it needed, but now that it’s here, it’s one that’s going to be played on loop, because we can’t get enough of it. Secret Love Song proves more and more that Little Mix’s sound is anything but small – it’s a force to be reckoned with. This show stopping duet, featuring none other than Jason Derulo, is quite possibly more magical than previous hit Black Magic.
Thematically detailing the heartbreak associated with a love hidden away from the world, this slow building ballad is fragile, but dynamic. And Jason Derulo is the perfect duet partner, matching each of these leading lady’s voices with stunning effect. Derulo’s sultry serenade is impressive alone, but once harmonized on Secret Love Song it’s taken to new highs. Each voice comes together beautifully, as the iconic chorus soars above the melody, dominating the entire track. While the girls hit every note with such grace that it’s impossible not to get a little emotional, with the tension building through each chorus before Leigh-Anne Pinnock lets it all out, and absolutely kills the final chorus.
