Single Review: John Legend – ‘All of Me’

1 min read

American soul singer and pianist John Legend brings the romance for All of Me, the third single from his latest album Love in the Future.

John Legend - All Of MeLegend is a legend at tugging the heart strings. His first dabble in this territory was Ordinary People, Legend’s single from his debut album Get Lifted. Get Lifted earned Legend a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, among others  in 2006, and since then he has won nine Grammy Awards.

This particular track is a dedication to his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, who he met when filming the music video for Stereo in 2007.

All of Me is the best of what John Legend can do – create beautiful, deep, delicate love ballads. As a result, he has probably contributed the largest number of chosen wedding dance songs from any artist, ever. He also has a way of appearing on big name R&B stars tracks and still remain tasteful and classic – something attributed mainly to his talent.

All of Me is heartfelt and romantic. Legend’s enchanting vocals are coupled only with the piano for the entire track, which makes for a simple yet well-rounded ballad. The intense message of “all of me loves all of youis poetic and sincere, and joined with the skillful and beautiful piano accompaniment, the track ends up being a classy and addictive love song.
