After time away in the studio this young singer songwriter is ready to show you what she’s been cooking. With a number of new exciting shows over the next few months and the launch of her brand new sound starting with the release of Not Your Pin Up Girl. Produced by Toby Scott of Xenomania (Little Mix / Jessy J)showcases a slick pop production with big hook chorus you can dance to, all set off with big strong smooth vocals. Katie is an artist who wants longevity and has over the last 18 months taken time to find her sound writing brand new material with the likes of Josh JT Thompson (B-Unique, Joel Compass, Rita Ora), Daecolm (Sony/ATV, Chris Brown), Sam Eyes (Elle Exxe, Twin Pines) and good friend Mark Thompson.
Expect huge pop hits with an urban flavour.
Born into a musical family Katie was brought up listening to soul, blues and reggae and at the age of 9 started writing songs and playing shows up and down the country shofered and engineered by her parents. In 2012 she travelled down to London to play a couple of acoustic shows where she was then spotted gaining her a monthly residency at music venue The Hawley Arms, made famous by the late great Amy Winehouse whereshe played alongside James Bay, the week of signing his record deal.
The blonde bombshell has worked with the likes of Grammy Winning writers, producers and mixers behind the likes of Adele, Lana Del Ray and Elton John and gained a forever growing fan base with love from Chris Hawkins 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and many industry.
Lover of music and fashion Katie was invited to play London Fashion week for the 2nd year running including attending the front show coverage at shows Pam Hogg’s and more. She was also invited to play a 300 cap sold out private Teenage Cancer Trust show at members lounge The Groucho Club for their annual Gang Show, sharing the stage with Mel C, Rumer, Dynamo and host Alex Zane amongst many others including top actors and comedians. She’s also played the likes of Jazz Café, Ronnie Scotts, Proud Galleries, Music TV Channel ‘Quality control’ (4 Media) and Pixie Lott presented night. Festivals have included Great Escape Festival (2014) supporting Nothing But Thieves, Station Sessions festival, and Cornbury Music Festival. If you listen hard enough you’ll also be able to hear her guest vocal on Tinchy Stryder’s 2014 album.
Inspired by some of the greats such Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Jimi Hendrix, Sia & Beyonce Katie has worked out her own unique vocal style and performance, and combined with her Northern down earth nature has the natural ability and style to control and connect with every audience member. With new material, new shows and writing sessions lined up with some big names in pop you should be hearing a lot more from this one.
