iLLPHONiCS are bringing their Midwestern brand of hip-hop fusion to the world with their fifth studio album Gone With The Trends, due out on April 1st via The Record Machine. The group is approaching 10 years as a collective, and have enjoyed stage time with household names like The Roots and Lupe Fiasco, while performing at an array of festivals like MayFest, Wakarusa, Taste of St. Louis, and more.
The group blends elements of hip-hop with R&B, soul, and alternative, and have created a sonically uplifting piece of art in their new album. The first single from the album, “What D’ Ya Like,” is the perfect track to wet the palate of any music fan teetering on the line between hip-hop and just about everything in between. Their soulful yet energetic sounds are just what the world needs in such a time of chaos and peril.
To support the album, iLLPHONiCS will perform at this year’s SXSW in Austin along with scattered dates around the Midwest and Southern U.S. Be sure to keep up with the band on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and keep an eye out for more tracks to be released throughout the month of March.
