Maverick Sabre is set to unleash his stunning new album Innerstanding on October 30th. The last 2 years has seen Mav hard at work, collaborating with artists such as Joey Bada$$, Gorgon City, Idris Elba and Stephen McGregor (son of reggae legend Freddie). The result is a collection of tracks that show Mav developing his sound into something much more powerful.
New single ‘Come Fly Away’ is perhaps his strongest single yet. Lyrically, it follows on from ‘I Need’ (Mav’s signature hit taken from his platinum selling debut Lonely Are The Brave) but with a more confident edge that effortlessly shoots from the hip. It is available to download now.

Other highlights from the record include ‘We Don’t Wanna Be’ with 19 year old Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$, ‘Breathe’, a slow soulful track accompanied by delicate vocals and intricate rhymes and ‘Walk Into The Sun’, a gospel-tinged, sun-soaked slice of funk and soul that radiates good-time vibes.
“I’m in a much more secure place than I was when I made my debut,” he says. “Back then, I was still finding my feet. Innerstanding sums me up now. The title refers to me finally understanding myself. I’m a different person, not a negative person, hopefully a higher person.”
Ever since releasing his debut in 2012, Mav has been gaining popularity for his refreshingly passionate music, and it shows no signs of stopping. Where Lonely Are The Brave introduced him as a talent with endless potential, Innerstanding makes good on that promise and explores a wider range of themes, styles and emotions and is set to solidify him as a crucial artist.
