News: Hozier Details Headline Tour Ahead Of Self-titled Album Release

(US) Evocative Irish singer/songwriter Hozier is in the midst of the breakthrough story of the year, announcing a 2015 block of shows to follow up his sold out North American tour which kicks off on September 29th in Nashville TN. The 21 date trek runs through the first week of November with a pair of sold out shows at New York City’s Irving Plaza, November 5th and 6th. It’s been a whirlwind year for the soulful Hozier since posting his heartrending video for “Take Me To Church” on YouTube, which has amassed over ten million views. The rousing song is among the most reactive at Top 40 radio and Adult Top 40 radio, rocketing to #1 at the Triple A radio format, and currently approaching Top 5 at Alternative Radio. Early (and continued) support for the single was garnered across multiple SIRIUSXM channels. “Take Me To Church” has scored a combined total of more than 500,000 tracks sold – all before the self-titled album’s official release on October 7th.

Calling his upcoming album a “mixed bag,” Hozier acknowledges influences of blues, folk, and soul – shredding this all-encompassing blend into a deftly woven signature sound that can be heard on his first two EPs, Take Me To Church and From Eden.
