News: Courtney Barnett adds new shows to her homecoming Australian tour

(AUS) It has been a truly incredible three week period for Courtney Barnett leading up to the release of her debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, which is now available worldwide. She played an amazing headline set at Golden Plains, headed to the states where she wowed crowds with her incredible live performances at SXSW and on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Her album received a 5 star review in the Guardian, Best New Music on Pitchfork and 9/10 on The Line Of Best Fit.
Today, Courtney is excited to announce additional shows which have been added to her homecoming Australian tour this April/May after shows have started selling out around the country. Second show dates have now been added in Adelaide (April 30 at The Gov), Perth (May 3 at The Bakery), Sydney (May 7 at The Metro) & Melbourne (May 16 at The Forum). Tickets for all newly announced shows go on sale this Friday 27th March at 9am local time. Last week also saw Barnett add a Tasmanian show date to her already extensive Australian tour. She will play the Wrestpoint in Hobart on Friday 24th April. Tickets for this show are on sale now.
In addition today Courtney was also awarded the Developing Act Grulke Prize at SXSW 2015. The Prize, awarded in three categories, was developed in honour SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke, who passed away on August 13, 2012. The Developing Act Prize is for artists who are breaking new ground with their creativity and show the most promise in achieving their career goals. Past winners include Haim, The Flaming Lips, Damon Albarn and more.
