News: A Day On The Green Kicks Off With An Epic Lineup

2 min read

(AUS) Everyone’s favourite outdoor event A Day On The Green kicks off its 15th season this weekend. The hugely successful concert series begins with an annual event at Robert Oatley Vineyards, Mudgee NSW on Saturday October 31 where about 5500 patrons will see a stellar Aussie line-up featuring Icehouse and James Reyne. The following weekend Fleetwood Mac takes to the stage at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong VIC with a sold-out crowd of 18,000.

Before we leap into this season’s feast of musical offerings, it’s worth recounting some stats from last year. During the 2014/2015 season, 45 artists played at 28 events nationally providing 190 hours of great music to more than 175,000 patrons. Yes, we were a tad tired by the end of it but this season that will be surpassed.

During most weekends through to early April, A Day On The Green line-ups will perform across the country, sometimes with two events happening in different locations on the same day. To date, 29 concerts are announced in classic wine regions including NSW’s Hunter Valley & Mudgee, Victoria’s Yarra Valley & Rutherglen, SA’s Barossa Valley & Fleurieu Peninsula, Tasmania’s Tamar Valley and in Perth, the beautiful Kings Park. More events are still to be announced.

A Day On The Green

The 2015/2016 season kicks off with show number 363 and during the course of the next five months A Day On The Green will again play host to the same diversity of music that has characterised the brand since its inception in January 2001.

International artists include Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Bryan Adams, Diana Krall, Lucinda Williams, Simply Red and Violent Femmes, with home-grown talent Paul Kelly, John Farnham, Tina Arena, Hoodoo Gurus and Sunnyboys to name but a few.
