(AUS) With 65 million albums sold, TLC are the most successful female group of all time with over ten top 10 singles in the US, and four top 5 singles in Australia. TLC’s last studio album was recorded in 2002, and now Chilli and T-Boz are calling on their fans to help fund the recording of their final album, with the announcement of a Kickstarter Campaign.

The Kickstarter Campaign, which was launched 7 days ago, has been one of the sites most successful campaigns so far, with has seen fellow artists such as Katy Perry and New Kids On The Block pledging to the campaign.

T-Boz and Chilli have said that the record “will stay true to their TLC sound, and will be dedicated to the fans that have supported them throughout their career”. They wrote to fans: “We owe so much of our success to you. Your loyalty and support throughout the past 20 years motivates us to do our best work. Without you, we wouldn’t have ten top 10 singles and four Number 1 singles. We wouldn’t have won five Grammys or sold 65 million albums. Without you there would be no TLC! This album, our FINAL ALBUM, is dedicated to all of you that have stuck with us, always challenging us to do our best. We just want to put out great music that touches everyone. That’s it”.

All funds raised will go towards the making of the album including the production, songwriting and studio time. Fans who pledge to the campaign will be involved in the process of the record, including choosing a track for a remix and inclusion on the album, plus a variety of fan rewards.

“This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us. Of course, Lisa’s spirit will always be present in our music. That will never change,” they said.
