News: Enrique Iglesias Breaks Personal Record With Track ‘El Perdon’

2 min read

(US) Enrique Iglesias has once again broken his own record for “Most Number Ones on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks Chart”—as his tally of hits now totals 26. His duet with Nicky Jam, “El Perdon,” seizes the #1 spot on the respective chart this week and also ascends to #1 at Latin Urban Radio. The Grammy Award-winning multiplatinum international superstar possesses more number ones than any artist in history.

Moreover, “El Perdon” follows up the gigantic success of the biggest smash of his storied career, the platinum-certified “Bailando,” which occupied the same spot less than a month ago. It held the top for a record 41 weeks, and “El Perdon” continues his success. In other big news, Enrique and Nicky Jampremiere today will premiere the sexy and cinematic music video for “El Perdon” as part of the YouTube Music Awards. Make sure to check out the video here!

Enrique Iglesias remains one of the globe’s most recognizable and revered superstars. This Grammy Award-winning icon recently released his tenth full-length album, Sex and Love. To date, he has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, cementing him as one of the best-selling Spanish artists of all-time. Other accolades include five Top 5 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, with two number ones, and 13 number ones on the Billboard Dance chart—which is “the most for any male artist in the chart’s history” and more than Michael Jackson and Prince. His total number ones throughout Billboard’s charts exceed 71, and he also is the record-holder for “Most #1 Spanish Language Singles” on the Hot Latin Track Charts. In 2014, he also set a new record for longest #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart at 28 weeks.
