Single Review: Cher – ‘Woman’s World’

Being the only artist in history to have secured a number one release in each of the past six decades, pop icon Cher has made a long awaited return to conquer the charts for a 7th decade. I’m sure the singer feels no pressure at all to conquer another decade having mastered the art of hit-making at such an early age and being given the opportunity time and time again to refine that art into a skill that seems to come so naturally for her as we hear, yet again, on new dance-floor juggernaut, Woman’s World.
For Woman’s World it’s all about having fun; letting your hair down and painting the part town red. Age is no limit to the diva who, at 67, is quite capable of giving her much younger peers a run for their money as she shows them all how it’s done – and she still looks fantastic doing it.
Woman’s World is a drag queens delight as the track reignites the Cher flame after a lengthy hiatus and fans could not be happier with the superstar’s latest offering. It’s dance heavy and molded perfectly to fit for the club scene with its energetic and techno charged structure. Vocally, Cher has once again outdone herself as she plays with the tracks infectious rhthym, owning the song and driving it through 4 minutes of electric powerhouse beats with a nod to girl power running thick through the number. With all of the ingredients within Woman’s World working their magic for the music icon it is no wonder that the track was co-written with international super-DJ, Paul Oakenfold given the tracks potent club drenching.
The track is the lead single taken from Cher’s upcoming twenty-sixth studio album release, Closer To The Truth which lands later in the year and going by this beauty of a lead single, the parent record is going to be a cracker of a release after Cher’s 12 year studio record absence.
