Caroline has just kicked off their annual celebration of metal music with March is Metal Month -now in its fifth year, Caroline has pulled together yet another exciting retail campaign to rejoice the genre of Metal.

Launching nationally in both physical and digital music stores on March 1st , the campaign – a collaboration between retailers, record companies and digital partners – sets to surpass prior drives with a slew of interactive activities, competitions and money-can’t-buy prizes .

This year’s March Is Metal Month introduces a Youtube Air Guitar Contest,’s “Show Us You’re Metal” contest and offers consumers daily prizes, consisting of T-shirts, samplers, backpacks (plus much more) and the grand prize for the YouTube Air Guitar Contest is an autograph guitar signed by Five Finger Death Punch. In partnership with Universal Music Group Distribution, this year’s campaign will take on a whole new level of exposure with college reps on over 50 college campuses nationwide spreading the gospel with download cards, calendars, backpacks, and samplers.

March is Metal Month has proven to be a highly anticipated and rousing initiative for all parties involved, Paula Hogan of Candlelight Records comments “March Is Metal has become something we as a label look forward to each year.  Caroline has worked really hard developing the genre-intense month-long program and it has helped all of our artists.  In a time when money is tight, it is great to see label, distributor, and retailer coming together to try and give the fan something special and at a great price.  Candlelight is always proud to be a part of it.”

Dominic Pandiscia of President of Caroline remarks “Metal continues to be one of the most important and compelling genres in music creating a deep bond between the fan and artist.  March is Metal Month is a great opportunity for the fan, either casual or uber-fan, to discover new artists, labels and genres all under the umbrella of ‘Metal’”
