Single Review: Encore – ‘Fun Last Night’

2 min read

Encore enjoyed a phenomenal 2011 providing Arena tour support for some of Britain’s biggest acts like Jessie J and N-Dubz and releasing a string of catchy singles including Tit For Tat and The One, providing the market with an infectious injection of the electro-Hip Hop flavors that the threesome have mastered in a very short space of time. The boys have started the new year off on the right foot with the release of their brand new single, Fun Last Night.

EncoreFunLastNightComing hand in hand with a glossy video shot in various London hot spots, Fun Last Night is what can only really be described as an upbeat heart-breaker. Lyrically unveiling the repercussions of a cheating girlfriend, the track has an optimistic and unsympathetic point to make and along with its accompanying video, a ‘lads unite’ finale.

The track is layered with some gritty, pop coated beats and a lot of vocal effects while the trio dish us several well structured and soulful verses of quick paced rap offerings. Still sitting in the commercial sphere with this one, Encore, which is made up of Pierre Joseph, Cairo Woodword and Mark Asari, have added a more mature angle to this latest single and really hit the nail on the head with fitting in with the current flow of what is hot right now in electronic infused hip-hop.

Fun Last Night is a fantastic and edgy addition to the ever expanding Encore catalogue.
