Alistair Griffin single ‘The One’ goes straight on to the Radio 2 playlist (UK)

1 min read

It’s been a good week for singer songwriter Alistair Griffin as his new single The One went straight on to the Radio 2 playlist. The One is an uplifting and anthemic track, which celebrates British culture and national pride.

On the same day that The One went onto the Radio 2 playlist Alistair finally conquered his most long held ambition. After 15 years of trying the singer won First Prize and the coveted Lemon Curd Trophy at The Danby Show in North Yorkshire. With a recipe handed down from generation to generation, he has worked tirelessly to perfect the art of making the perfect Lemon Curd. For years the trophy was won by WI stalwart Mrs Cornforth and even following her passing in 2011 Alistair was unsuccessful at lifting the Lemon Curd trophy until now.

Alistair’s hit track Just Drive was also used for the opening credits of the BBC’s Formula One coverage last year and has continued to be used this year.  Alistair has also been asked by event organisers Welcome To Yorkshire to write a theme for next year’s Tour De France Grand Depart which is coming to Yorkshire next year.
